General Duty Worker (Gardener)

Six month Seasonal (Temporary/Full Time)

We are seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic person to fill the position of Gardener as an integral part of our dynamic public works team.  The term is from the date of hire, anticipated to be May 1st , until approximately the end of October.

Typical duties include operating mechanized equipment such as lawn mowers and tractors, associated implements, light trucks, and hand tools and ensuring the professional maintenance and cleanliness of public areas, washrooms, and facilities.  All duties must be performed to departmental procedures, safety policies, municipal regulations, and Work Safe regulations.  You may also be tasked with other duties as assigned.

Aquatic Worker 1

Under daily leadership and supervision, the position is responsible for the safe, effective instruction and life guarding of the public at the Golden Municipal Swimming Pool as well as routine facility maintenance, public relations and program registration.

Minimal Qualifications
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor accreditation
  • National Lifeguard accreditation
  • Standard First Aid, Aquatic Emergency Care or equivalent accreditation
  • CPR "C" accreditation

Aquatic Worker 2

Aquatic Worker 3

Providing daily leadership for the staff at the Golden Municipal Swimming Pool, the position is responsible for the safe, effective instruction and life guarding of the public at the Golden Municipal Swimming Pool as well as routine facility maintenance, public relations and program registration.

Minimal Qualifications
  • Lifesaving Instructor accreditation
  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor accreditation
  • National Lifeguard accreditation
  • Standard First Aid, Aquatic Emergency Care or equivalent accreditation
  • CPR "C" accreditation
  • One full season as an Aquatic Worker 2 or equivalent experience

Recreation Clerk

Under general supervision, the position is a front line role at the Golden Municipal Swimming Pool providing customer service, reception and other cashier duties, program registrations, and other administrative support. The position works closely with Aquatic Workers, maintenance staff and the Manager and Coordinator of Recreation Services.

Minimal Qualifications
  • Standard First Aid, Aquatic Emergency Care or equivalent accreditation
  • CPR "C" accreditation
Specific Skills
  • Thorough knowledge of the Red Cross Swim Lesson program
  • General knowledge of standard pool operations and regulations
  • Ability to use Microsoft outlook, word, excel
  • Strong organization and communication skills
