Council Committees are legally established entities that address particular issues of policy, governance or operations for the local government.
There are two types of Council Committees:
A Select Committee is established to undertake a specific, finite task for Council and report back with recommendations. At least one member of the committee must sit on council.
A Standing Committee is established to undertake an ongoing process for Council, and provide recommendations as and when required to modify, or improve such processes. At least half of the memers of the committee must sit on council.

This committee undertakes the annual process to facilitate applications to the Columbia Basin Trust's Community Initiatives and Affected Areas Funds, adjudicates all applications, and approves all annual recipients.
