Boulevards and your property line Print Article Font Size
Did you know that your property line can be up to 25ft from the edge of a road and up to 15ft from the edge of a sidewalk? This area is referred to as a boulevard and is part of the public road right of way. It can serve as a corridor for utilities such as electricity or telecommunications, be occupied by fire hydrants, light standard, power poles and is used for snow storage.

In the winter, boulevards are needed and used for snow storage, particularly when crews are working on widening the roads. When widening operations occur, snow needs to be pushed back from the road surface. This can result in snow piles being stored on boulevards.
