Golden, we’re in this together. Our community has done a great job of coming together to keep Golden safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic, but we need to keep up the great work! ⁣

Stay committed to the basics: wash your hands frequently; always practice physical distancing by staying 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your bubble; wear a non-medical mask or face covering when you can’t maintain safe physical distances, specifically indoors; and stay home if you’re sick.⁣

Over the last few months we’ve seen how resilient our community is and how much the people of Golden care about one another, from following the orders and recommendations of health officials to supporting local organizations and businesses. ⁣
Since March, Town Council has approved relief measures to support residents and businesses through implementing a 0% tax revenue increase for 2020, deferring property tax penalties, and voting to support patio expansions and increase food truck licenses to help facilitate economic recovery. ⁣

Town staff has been working hard to provide essential services for the community during the pandemic, making sure the Canada Day fireworks could be enjoyed from everyone’s home and backyard, and working collaboratively with Kicking Horse Culture  and Golden B.C. Fire-Rescue to bring Summer Kicks to our community safely this summer with the curbside concert series. ⁣

Thanks to everyone in Golden for doing their part, we’re all in this together. Stay safe, be kind and keep up the great work!⁣
