All outdoor parks and recreation spaces are now open. Do your part while enjoying our parks and learn more about the guidelines for enjoying our parks safely this summer below.

General guidelines for all parks and recreation areas:
  • Practice physical distancing by staying 2 metres (6 feet) apart from others outside of your household.
  • Avoid group gatherings. If the park is busy, leave, and come back later.
  • Stay home if you’re sick or showing any symptoms.
  • Limit touching benches, trash cans or other hard surfaces.
  • Skip the high-fives, handshakes and fist bumps and find alternate ways to celebrate without contact.
  • Play safe! Avoid taking unnecessary risk to minimize potential injuries.
  • Please do not participate in any organized team games or activities.
Guidelines for the Playgrounds:
  • Playgrounds are high-touch point structures. These play areas are not disinfected or cleaned after use. Carry and use your own hand sanitizer before and after using playground equipment.
  • If the playground is busy, try another park or come back later.
  • Keep your distance (2 metres apart) and limit congregating in groups when supervising children.
  • Encourage children to avoid sharing toys or sports equipment and limit contact with people outside of their home or pandemic bubble.
  • If bringing your children's toys or sports equipment to the park, clean and disinfect before and after use.

Guidelines for the tennis courts:
  • Limit play to singles tennis, only play doubles with partners from the same household.
  • Do not share racquets or other equipment.
  • Clearly mark your ball and refrain from picking up others’ tennis or pickleballs.
  • Wash your hands before and after using the tennis courts.

  • Take breaks off of the concrete, don’t hang out at the top of the park surface.
  • Limit of 6 skaters/riders at the park at all times.
  • Keep your hands as clean as possible. Avoid tricks that require touching the concrete.
  • Share the park. If people are waiting, rotate out with others every 15 minutes.
  • Skate/ride safe. Avoid taking risks to minimize potential injuries.

  • Play solo or with members of your household as much as possible.
  • Limit your group size to two people per hole
  • Consider picking up “gimme” putts to minimize your contact with shared surfaces.

Residents are reminded to remain vigilant by: continuing to practice good hygiene (frequent hand washing, avoid touching your face, cough into your sleeve, disinfect frequently touched surfaces); staying home when sick (don’t go to work or school sick); minimizing non-essential travel; maintaining physical distancing outside your household; and staying informed, prepared and following public health advice.
