Virtual Public Meetings
Members of the public are invited to attend Open Council and Committee meetings in person, or virtually via Zoom. Learn how to attend or participate in a public meeting.
Starting February 2025, all Town of Golden open Council meetings are livestreamed and recorded and will be made available online. When attending a meeting in-person or virtually, your image, username and/or voice may be recorded and livestreamed.
The purpose of livestreaming and recording Council meetings is to allow the public to watch, hear and participate in meetings virtually.

Current Council Committees
Council Committees are legally established entities that address particular issues of policy, governance or operations for the local government.
There are two types of Council Committees:
- A Select Committee is established to undertake a specific, finite task for Council and report back with recommendations. At least one member of the committee must sit on council.
- A Standing Committee is established to undertake an ongoing process for Council, and provide recommendations as and when required to modify, or improve such processes. At least half of the memers of the committee must sit on council.
