BC Wildfire reports this morning that established containment lines continued to hold with no significant growth recorded yesterday (Friday, July 27, 2024). Structure protection work is nearing completion and crews are reinforcing the guard and working to finalize containment on the excursion on the east side of the Columbia River.
Heavy equipment groups continue to work on the machine guard from the north and the south. Helicopters are assigned to this incident to cool the fires edge or flareups as visibility and objectives require.
While lower temperatures and increased humidity has reduced fire behaviour and activity since Thursday, wildfires are dynamic and can change rapidly, be prepared and stay tuned to official news sources.
