Council Corporate Sponsorship Fund

The Council Corporate Sponsorship Fund is designed to provide financial support for people, events, initiatives, and projects that promote community goodwill, recognition, and accomplishment across humanitarian, cultural, sporting, marketing, and economic sectors.

Sponsorship decisions are made jointly by the Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). No single sponsorship may exceed $1,000.

Eligibility

Sponsorships must support or advance at least one of:

• Community goodwill; 
• Corporate, political, and community recognition;
• Individual and collective accomplishment; and
• Humanitarian, social, cultural, sporting, marketing, or economic enterprises.

The fund must not be used:

• As a Grant in Aid;
• To support ongoing operations of any organization;
• In place of regular departmental advertising or sponsorship budget expenditures; or
• Retroactively.

How to Apply

Submit a Request Form at least 4 weeks before your event or sponsorship opportunity. Forms can be submitted by email to clerk@golden.ca, by mail to the Corporate Officer at PO Box 1851, Golden, BC, V0A 1H0 or dropped off at Town Hall at 810 9^th Ave S.

• Forms are accepted year-round, subject to available funding.
• All complete submissions are reviewed by the Mayor and CAO.
• Applicants will be notified of the decision by the Corporate Officer or their designate.

Acknowledging Support

Organizations receiving sponsorship must acknowledge Council’s support through one or more of the following:

• Social media
• Website
• Promotional materials
• Advertising (radio/newspaper)
• Logo placement
• Verbal acknowledgment at events

Reporting

Twice a year (by June 30 and December 1), a full listing of fund expenditures will be posted here and reported to Council.
