Planning for Golden’s Future: Updating Development Cost Charges (DCCs)
The Town of Golden is updating its Development Cost Charges (DCC) Bylaw to make sure that growth-related infrastructure needs are contributed to fairly and distributed to different developers across the community. As our community grows, new developments increase the demand for infrastructure and services. DCCs are fees collected from developers and placed in reserves to help fund critical upgrades and the expansion of new municipal infrastructure, which includes helping pay for roads, pathways, water and sewer systems, and parks.
With the next phase of the DCC program and bylaw update underway, we’re inviting residents to help guide how growth costs are shared between development and existing taxpayers.
