The airspace below Mount 7 is currently being used by helicopters working on the Dogtooth FSR Fire (N21427). Some paragliding and hang gliding activity has been encroaching on the airspace of the helicopters transiting to and from the Golden Airport.
If individuals choose to fly out of Mount 7, the BC Wildfire Service asks that paragliders and hang gliders stay east of Highway 95 by at least 600 meters and upslope of the powerlines that parallel the highway.
This buffer will allow the helicopter pilots to safely navigate back to Golden using Highway 95 as their corridor.
