Community Connection and Spring Registration Night

Spring into Summer at the annual Community Connection and Spring Registration Night!

Spring is officially here, the weather is getting warmer and you may be wondering, "What is happening in Golden this spring and summer?"

We have a great way for residents to find out!

On Thursday April 25th, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Town of Golden Recreation team is hosting the annual Spring Registration Night at the Mount 7 Rec Plex.

The expo-style evening provides an ideal place for groups to share their goals and objectives, and for the public to take in dynamic displays and demonstrations from the many recreational opportunities Golden has to offer. It's also a great way for organizations to network with each other.

"This annual event showcases the many organizations that provide valuable services to our community," says Mayor Ron Oszust. "It's a great way for new and long-time members of our community to be informed, get active and get involved."

This year's event promises to be both informative and fun, and we are introducing a new format for pool lesson registration!

When you arrive to sign up for swimming lessons, we will give you a number. While you wait, you will have the opportunity to find out what's happening with organizations like the Golden Community Foundation, the Golden cycling Club, the Golden Dolphins, and Golden Fire Rescue to name a few and learn about what kids summer camps are being offered this year.

New in 2019 at Golden Swimming Pool, we are offering some great new courses for swimmers aged 8 and older that are looking to take their skills beyond the learn-to-swim program and provide them with basic lifesaving skills. Visit our homepage and click the soccer ball to learn more about these programs, when they are being offered and check out the lesson schedule, or click HERE.

"Much like our fall registration evening, this event has become a great way for local organizations to showcase various spring and summer activities," says Manager of Recreation Services Jordan Petrovics. "The event is so much more than an evening dedicated to program registration for children's programs. Over the past couple of years we have seen some great new energy and activities from all age demographics get introduced to our community. Make sure you come down to find out more."

Drop by the Rec Plex on Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. All user groups, volunteers and interested members of the public are welcome to attend. Participation for not-for- profit groups in this event is free.
