Emergency Information Update: July 24, 2024 at 12:30 p.m.

Parson Wildfire

An Evacuation Alert is still in effect for the Parson Wildfire (#N21427). BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reports that ground crews remain on site and have been supported by helicopters and airtankers to slow the spread of the fire. Structure protection assessments have been conducted and a containment line is being constructed in an effort to protect power lines. There are no impacts to Highway 95 at this time, however, you should always check DriveBC for updates on road closures and conditions before travelling.

With current weather conditions, we may see growth on the fire today, however, rainfall and cooler temperatures are expected over the next 24 hours which is expected to help slow the spread.
