Emergency Information Update: July 24, 2024 at 4 p.m.
An Evacuation Alert is still in effect for the Parson Wildfire (#N21427). BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reports that due to smoke in the area affective visibility, officers were unable to get an accurate track of the fire. The size is expected to change when visibility improves enough that a track is established. Crews and a heavy equipment strike team are on site. Heavy equipment continues to work on establishing a machine guard to the south. Crews are reinforcing containment lines, and locating and suppressing hot spots.
There are no impacts to Highway 95 at this time, however, you should always check DriveBC for updates on road closures and conditions before traveling.
