Emergency Information Update: July 24, 2024 at 6:40 p.m.
Pursuant to the Emergency and Disaster Management Act, an EVACUATION ORDER has been issued by the Golden and Area Emergency Management Program. A wildfire burning in the Parson area (#N21427) is causing an immediate danger to life, health and property in Electoral Area A. The EVACUATION ORDER is in effect for the following areas:
- Malone Rd.
- Parson River Crossing FSR
- Thomas Rd.
Members of the RCMP and Search and Rescue will be expediting the EVACUATION ORDER. Evacuees will not have access to their properties while the Order is in place; therefore, bring your pets and important items with you.

- Please ensure you read this entire document.
- Please proceed to Reception Center located at the Golden Senior Centre 1401 9 St S, Golden, BC
- If you are impacted by this evacuation and need assistance, please call 250-344-7473
- Close and lock all windows and doors. Shut off gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.
- Gather your family. Take pets in pet kennels or on a leash.
- Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, keys and grab-and-go bag) only if they are immediately available.
- Do not use more vehicles than needed. If time permits, check with neighbours and assist those with special needs.
- Assist your local Emergency Support Services Team by self-registering now on the Evacuee Registration and Assistance website at ess.gov.bc.ca. This streamlines the registration process should an Evacuation Order be required.
