Fall recreation update

The Town’s Recreation team is busy working on our fall program schedule. Recreation programs will be in full swing in early October. Here’s what you need to know when you visit our recreation facilities this fall.

The B.C. Government's proof of vaccination requirements are now in affect and will impact access to some Town of Golden programs.

Proof of vaccination will not be required when entering Town facilities for:

  • Youth (under 22) who are participating in a sporting activity. This includes groups such as Minor Hockey, Figure Skating, Golden Basketball Association and any other youth sport.
  • Coaches and support staff for youth group and team sports.
  • Adults dropping off and supporting your child/youth attending a sports program.

Proof of vaccination will be required when entering Town facilities for:

  • All Adults (22+) participating in sport and fitness programs at the Arena and Rec Plex. This will include public drop-in programs and adults renting a recreation facility.
  • All spectators 12+ attending a Rockets home game.

Please note that the organizer(s) of group and team sports or events will be responsible for checking proof of vaccination upon entry to Town facilities. Town staff continue to work with organizers to provide clarity on current Public Health Orders as they relate to sports and recreation.

Mask will be required in the common areas of recreation facilities for everyone over the age of 12.

Please note that both Provincial and Health Region requirements may change at any time.
