The Town of Golden and the Golden and Area Emergency Program are aware a wildfire in Columbia Shuswap Regional District Area A that is currently marked as Out of Control - Sea Lion Mountain wildfire (N41412). According to BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), at this time there is no threat to public safety or structures.
BCWS today issued an information bulletin noting that they continue to monitor this wildfire, which is estimated to be 250 hectares and is located in the Sea Lion Mountain area, 27 km northeast of the Town of Golden. Link here: BC Wildfire Service
In the interest of public and responder safety, BCWS has also issued an area restriction effective at 1 p.m. (MST) August 6, 2026, that will remain in place until the earlier of 1 p.m. (MST) on October 15, 2026, or until the Order is rescinded. A detailed map of the affected area is available here.
