On September 21, 2026, Dawn Attorp, Chief Election Officer for the Town of Golden, officially declared that an election by voting is to be held for the following offices:
Office of Mayor – one to be elected.
The candidates for the office of Mayor are:
- Kristi Cooper, Golden B.C.
- Wes Routley, Golden B.C.
Offices of Councillor - six to be elected.
The candidates for the offices of Councillor are:
- Stuart Jeffrey Angus, Golden B.C.
- Justin Reynold Baun, Golden B.C.
- Calvin Beauchesne, Golden B.C.
- James Bjarnason, Golden B.C.
- Janet Lynn Crandall, Golden B.C.
- John Manuel, Golden B.C.
- Ron Oszust, Golden B.C.
- Rick Pullen, Golden B.C.
- David Michal Ratzlaff, Golden B.C.
- Dustin James Shanahan, Golden B.C.
In the 2026 General Local Election, residents of Golden will vote to elect 1 Mayor and 6 Town Councillors. Three school trustees for School District No. 6 were elected by acclamation: Scott King, Jane Fearing and Noelle Smith.
All offices will be held for a four-year term.

Advance Voting
Advance voting will take place on Wednesday, October 7, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mount 7 Rec Plex located at 1310 9th Street South
Voting Day
Voting Day will take place on Saturday, October 17, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mount 7 Rec Plex located at 1310 9th Street South
Special Voting
Special Voting will be available for electors who are patients, tenants or staff of the following facilities at the time of voting:
Wednesday, October 7 between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at:
- Abbeyfield House (915 9th St. S): 2-2:30 p.m.
- Durand Manor (835 9th Ave. S): 2:30-3 p.m.
- Mountain View Assisted Living (750 8th Ave. S.): 3-3:30 p.m.
- General Hospital (835 9th Ave S.): 3:30 – 4 p.m.
