Notice of second public hearing this month

An application has been submitted to build duplex residences in the new Bear's Paw Heights development.



Town of Golden Zoning Amendment Bylaw No.1409, 2019 - Bear's Paw Heights Duplex

(This bylaw also proposes to affect the Twin Residential - R2, Twin Residential Sensitive - R2A, and Multi-Flex Residential - R3 zones)
would allow for 2 duplex lots in phase three of Bear's Paw Heights and 2 duplex lots in the next phase.



What is proposed?



The purpose of proposed Town of Golden Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1409, 2019 - Bear's Paw Heights Duplex is to amend Town of Golden Zoning Bylaw 1294, 2011 to allow for 2 duplex lots in phase three of Bear's Paw Heights and 2 duplex lots in the next phase by rezoning from Single Detached With Secondary Residential - R1S to Flexible Residential - R1D. Note the proposed bylaw has been amended to remove the proposal to rezone the four interior lots on Juniper Street to R1-D (1440 - 1452 Juniper Street).



The bylaw also proposes to adjust duplex setbacks, minimum lot frontage and lot area in a number of residential zones including the Flexible Residential - R1D, Twin Residential - R2, Twin Residential Sensitive - R2A, and Multi-Flex Residential - R3 zones).

Background material may be viewed at the Town Hall from Friday, March 1st, 2019 to Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday (note Tuesdays Town Hall opens at 9:30 am).

Anyone who considers themselves affected by the proposed application and wishes to register an opinion may do so:

a) By forwarding written submissions for Council consideration (attention of the Manager of Legislative Services) by post (P.O. Box 350, Golden B.C. V0A 1H0) or by email to viv.thoss@golden.ca (only emails sent to this email address will form part of the Council Agenda). Any submissions must be received by 12:00 pm (noon) on Thursday, March 14th, 2019; and / or

b) By appearing before Council at the Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 19th, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Town Hall Council Chambers (810 9th Ave South).
