Are you ready for the September long weekend? Have fun, stay safe and help prevent wildfires!
Campfires are now permitted in the Southeast Fire Centre. This includes Golden and Area A.
If you're having a campfire this weekend:
🔥Keep campfires no larger than 0.5 metres high or 0.5 metres wide.
🔥Never light a campfire or keep it burning in windy conditions. Weather can change quickly and wind may carry embers to other combustible material.
🔥Never leave a campfire unattended.
🔥Have a shovel or at least eight litres of water available to properly extinguish a campfire.
🔥Create a fuel break around the campfire, free of any debris or combustible materials.
🔥Make sure the fire is fully extinguished and that ashes are cool to the touch before leaving the campfire for any length of time.
