On April 2, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a diesel fuel spill was reported to the Town of Golden at 1050 Hwy 1 Frontage Rd. It was reported that an unknown amount of product had made its way into Hospital Creek through the storm drain system. The incident was reported to the Ministry of Environment and Parks, and the Golden Fire Department attended the scene for initial cleanup and will remain on-site until the Ministry of Environment and Parks arrives.
