The Evacuation Alert issued on July 23, 2024, by the Golden and Area Emergency Management Program due to the Dogtooth (#N21427) wildfire near Parson has been rescinded to ALL CLEAR for all properties.
In addition, the Evacuation Order for the properties at 4490 Thomas Rd., 2104 Hwy 95 S and Rauch Rd. has been rescinded and downgraded to all clear.

The Dogtooth wildfire has not been declared out by the BC Wildfire Service. An evacuation Alert may need to be reissued. Currently, the wildfire is considered as being held. This means, that it is projected, based on fuel and weather conditions and resource availability, to remain within the current perimeter, control line or boundary. A reminder that a fire ban is still in place. Please remain diligent and abide by the full fire ban which includes:
- No campfires
- No fireworks
- No open burning of any kind

The Town of Golden would like to thank all those agencies, organizations, businesses and community members who assisted with the wildfire effort. This includes members of the BC Wildfire Service who continue their efforts to battle the Dogtooth wildfire, local heavy equipment operators and contractors, the Nicholson and Golden fire departments, helicopter operators, RCMP, Emergency Support Services volunteers, Golden and District Search and Rescue and Emergency Centre Operation staff.
