The Town of Golden is proposing an amendment to the Official Community Plan (OCP) that will provide policy context for the consideration of up to six storey structures in the Corridor Development Permit Area 4 by application for development variance permit (DVP).
The proposed bylaw sets forth guidance with regards to sightlines, viewsheds and shadowing concerns, and encourages a developer to submit voluntary amenity contribution that work towards meeting community needs (examples: affordable housing, expanded sidewalk network etc.).
The proposed Bylaw amendment also introduces additional consideration and protection of treed/landscaped slopes.
