
In April of 2026, the Town of Golden began a consultant-led, Aquatic Options Study project focused on reviewing the existing condition of the outdoor swimming pool and exploring potential solutions for long-term sustainable aquatic services for the greater community.
The project costs are funded jointly by the Town of Golden and Columbia Shuswap Regional District.
The study is intended to inform the greater community about the capital costs and operational costs associated with:
- A large-scale mechanical systems update and modernization renovation to the existing outdoor pool.
- Construction costs associated with building a new outdoor aquatic facility.
- Construction costs associated with building a new indoor aquatic facility.
A presentation will be provided on Tuesday, August 18, at 1:15 p.m. at the Regular Open Council Meeting, where Council will consider multiple options that can be considered in the future.
A second informational session for the public will take place on Tuesday, August 18 at the Golden Civic Centre from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with a presentation at 6 p.m. where the public are welcome to submit questions that will be reviewed included in the next steps in this study.
